The recent publication of topless pictures of The Duchess of Cambridge in a French magazine, following so closely after the exposure of Prince Harry’s nocturnal activities in Las Vegas, has returned the issue of the private lives of public figures to the forefront of the news once again. So, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been successful in obtaining an injunction against Closer magazine from the Tribunal de Grande Instance de Nanterre, preventing the magazine from re-publishing or selling topless pictures of the Duchess.  Is that the end of the story? Far from it, the story will continue for ever thanks to the internet.

Inforrm: End of the Summer Break

Today marks the official end of the Inforrm summer break.  Although the legal vacation continues until 1 October, there is no shortage of media and legal news.  We had a “Mid-Summer Round Up” a couple of weeks ago and we will resume our regular weekly round up tomorrow. Regular readers will have noticed that we have not, in fact, had much of a break this year.  This has been, in large part, due to the two main “media legal” stories of the summer: Royal Privacy and the preparations for the publication of the Leveson report this Autumn.
